What does it mean to be
Living
Gold

Just based off the name alone, luxury is probably the first thing that comes to mind. An abundance of time and wealth. Being at a status where flaunting is easy and money comes at no effort.

If you knew LG Malique's story, you'd know it's way deeper than any kind of material possession.

```
Living Gold is standing tall even when life gives you all the reasons to sit down and close the curtains.
Living Gold is putting it all on the line with no real knowledge of whether or not it'll pay off.
Living Gold is believing in yourself when nobody else will.
Then, after withstanding the journey with your chest out and your head high, the wins come in abundance and you can enjoy the benefits.
Pressure can do two things: bust pipes or create diamonds. LG Malique dug his way through the trenches and created diamonds. The Arkansas bred, Oklahoma-infused star is no stranger to rough times. After his mom lost her career due to a lawsuit that was later dropped, a young Malique and his siblings went broke and spent some time homeless. This was the moment he knew he had to make something happen for his family.
As the years went by, LG Malique, formerly known as Malique Andrews, would have his fair share of ups and downs. He started finding his footing in the music industry, gaining fans and recognition, but anytime he felt like he made it to the top of the stairs a mishap came along knocking him to the ground again.
"I was supposed to be done right now, I swear to God. Any artist I seen that was in my position definitely folded."
— LG Malique
As it does to many young and rising stars, the industry took advantage of the "Seven Years" rapper early. A behind-the-back trademark forced him to change his name. Eventually he made his way out of that deal only to find himself in another messed up situation — one that put him on the verge of hitting rock bottom once again.
LG Malique and his girlfriend were a knock away from getting their things put on the curb when one of his people suggested remixing Lukas Graham's classic, "7 Years." He listened. The decision to listen turned into a huge blessing when the song blew up all over social media, eventually reaching Lukas Graham himself.
"Your lyrics on that song are amazing."
— Lukas Graham, via FaceTime
The two later met in Vegas to record the official remix. The song was released as LG Malique's first official single under Warner. Since dropping his version, he's garnered over 6 million views on YouTube, millions of views across social media, and his streaming numbers are on a level he's never seen before.
Before you give up, keep pushing. You never know when your time will come.
The journey is far from over. Matter of fact, it's just getting started. The greats do high level things repeatedly. Of course, that doesn't mean LG Malique should chase the success he had with "Seven Years" — trying to recreate what already happened rarely ever turns out how it's supposed to for artists. What it does mean, though, is that LG Malique shouldn't be satisfied. He has the potential to be mainstream. His ability to paint vivid pictures while creating industry-sounding hits is unmatched, and he does it without sacrificing who he is.
Talent is such a small piece of the puzzle when it comes to becoming a legend. That goes for any field, but it's especially true for rappers. If you don't have the hustle, the image, the knowledge, and the connections, you might as well call it a day. There's no sugarcoating it — the industry is a dog eat dog world. The good thing for Malique is he has all the necessary attributes, though it came with time and experience. The timing will never be better than when you allow the universe to do what it does. Don't force it. Just stay on your path, keep working and growing.
In 2025, LG Malique released Carved in Gold, an 8-song project with a feature from Florida's Youngeen Ace. Carved in Gold also featured one of the best songs of 2025 in "Give It To God." He closed the year with "Vision," a song that doubles as a letter and prayer to God, asking the Most High to continue blessing him and keeping him on his path to creating a generational change for his family.
Aside from the obvious message in the song, here's another lesson everyone can take away:
In order to start Living Gold, you must have a Vision.
